This survey is conducted to obtain information for developing an estimate of the resources that will be required for the NGI palmprint system. The survey asks for data that relates to best practices, resource utilization, and performance. This data will be used to estimate the impact of search strategies, as reflected by the best practices, on the sizing and the cost of the proposed NGI palmprint system.
It is recognized that some of the questions may not be applicable to your operations and that other factors may need to be addressed. If you do not understand the question or else you believe that other factors should be addressed, please provide comments at the end of the survey so that we can follow up on your comments. Please note that some of the questions address latent fingerprint capabilities; these questions are intended to provide data for comparative sizing.
It is very likely, that a follow up to the survey will be necessary. Please identify a point of contact so that we can contact you for clarification and/or for additional information.
Note: Even if you do not currently have access to a palm matcher there are many questions that will assist the FBI anyway.
